    Nightclub & Bar

    Article By: Jack Robertiello

The Park City Area Restaurant Association presented its fifth annual Cocktail Contest April 8. Participating bartenders prepared cocktails for a panel of local judges, and the winning concoction was named the official Park City Signature Cocktail for 2010. The winner was Sky Bar bartender Eddie Schneckloth’s Blue Açaí Sour. Reports from Park City say the Ginger-Lemon Cooler by Deer Valley’s Bonnie Ulmer was also a much-lauded contender.

    The North Face

    Monday, April 12th, 2010

The historic conquest of one of Europe’s tallest mountains is the central event in this period drama inspired by a true story. In 1936, Nazi Germany is looking for a team to climb the north face of the Eiger. An experienced climbing team is found. While one member is willing to take the risk in the name of patriotism, the other is cynical about the Third Reich and says he’ll put his life on the line only for his own reasons and not to please Germany’s leaders. The two begin the perilous climb only to discover that an Austrian mountaineering team is now challenging them in a race to the top. This film is noted for breathtaking scenery and daring cinematography. It was an official selection at the 2008 Locarno Film Festival.

    Earth Days

    Monday, April 12th, 2010

Join Swaner EcoCenter for a sneak preview of EARTH DAYS. This film was first shown as the closing film of the 2009 Sundance Film Festival. If you missed it then, this is your chance to see it! In EARTH DAYS, acclaimed director Robert Stone traces the origins of the modern environmental movement through the eyes of nine key Americans. This group propelled the movement from its beginnings in the 1950s to the first Earth Day in 1970 and finally to its status today as a major political force in America. This inspiring film draws heavily on eyewitness testimony and a wealth of never-before-seen archival footage, while examining the revolutionary achievements of a decade of groundbreaking activism. This film is being shown thanks to a partnership with KUED and the SLC Film Center.

Reservations are recommended for this film. To RSVP, please contact Nell@SwanerEcoCenter.org or call 435.649.1767 ext. 103. The Swaner EcoCenter is located at 1258 Center Drive in Park City, Utah.
