5 Essential Park City Breweries and Distilleries You Have to Try
We love the beers and spirits coming out of Park City breweries and distilleries. After a day on the slopes or a hard day's work, it's nice to unwind over a plate of comforting grub that's paired with a regionally produced craft beer or cocktail. Looking for some of the best spots to have a pint or a cocktail? Here are some of our favorite breweries and distilleries you should visit in America's favorite resort town!
1. High West Distillery & Saloon
703 Park Avenue, (435) 649-8300
Put the High West Distillery on your list of Park City libation destinations to visit ASAP. Learn about the history of their award-winning whiskey and bourbon by taking a full tour of their famous distillery in Wanship, or embrace the old west by saddling up at the High West Saloon's bar in Park City proper. What's more? This high-elevation craft spirits producer is also the first ski-in distillery in the country, making it one of the top ski après places in the world. Both locations also serve up delectable organic bites that capture the flavors of our area and partners wonderfully with each pint as well.
2. Wasatch Brew Pub
250 Main St., (435) 649-0900
Wasatch Brew Pub pioneered Park City micro-beer culture. The first post-prohibition brewery in town, Wasatch has been pouring the perfect pint of beer since 1986. We recommend trying the award-winning Polygamy Porter on Nitro. Its chocolatey and creamy profile makes it a refreshing and easy choice to enjoy alongside any dish from their hardy food menu. If you're looking for a beer with balanced hops and malts, grab a glass of the Snap Down IPA as well. Wasatch also has a cozy covered patio that's perfect for an evening of pub-grub and beers with friends. What's even cooler? The patio is dog-friendly, so feel free to bring Fido along!
3. Red Rock Junction
1640 Redstone Center Dr., (435) 575-0295
Red Rock Junction is one of the best breweries in Park City. Their beers have earned more than 100 national and regional awards, and their eatery was named, "Brewpub of the Year," by Brewpub Magazine. With both draft and bottled beers available, every beer lover is sure to find a new favorite pint here. Also, make sure to order something from their dynamite food menu. You can't go wrong with their Kobe beef burger with bacon, mushrooms, and swiss cheese. For a starter, try the wood-fired brie toast accompanied by pear, grape, pistachio, and fried sage.
4. Squatters Roadhouse Grill & Pub
1900 Park Ave., (435) 649-9868
This chill and local brewery features classic pub fare and a variety of award-winning house brews on tap that make it a fun destination for visitors and locals alike. For the hop-lovers among us, Squatters offers three different IPAs: Hop Rising Double IPA, Tropical IPA, and Texas Twist. We suggest matching any of these hop-heavy beers with an order of their flaky fish and chips, made with Alaskan cod. If beers aren't your thing, try one of their hard-sparkling waters, or grab a cocktail from their full bar. With an expansive dining room and kid's menu, Squatters is an excellent spot for the whole family or a night out with your besties.
5. Alpine Pie Bar
350 Main St., (435) 200-9537
The visionaries behind Alpine Pie Bar focus on two things: cocktails and pie. Honestly, us Parkites couldn't be more excited about this pairing, because what's not to love about this combo? Visit their Main Street tasting room and sample their entire portfolio of perfectly crafted spirits that range from custom gins and other delightful liquors. Top off the whole experience by balancing your beverage choices with a slice of pie from provided by Element Kitchen & Bakery and Auntie Em's. If you aren't in the mood for sweets, no worries. Alpine Pie Bar also offers artisan cheese from Utah's very own Gold Creek Farm as well.
