Stein Eriksen Lodge Partners with Alpine Distilling
to Serve up Exclusive Aquavit

A new spirit is flowing at Stein Eriksen Lodge, Utah’s only Forbes Five-Star resort and spa. Produced by Park City’s own Alpine Distilling, nearly 200 private-label bottles of aquavit await lodging guests at their next fine dining experience or après-ski stop.
“We are thrilled to unveil a unique spirit that is true to Stein Eriksen Lodge’s proud Norwegian heritage,” said Stein Eriksen Lodge Vice President of Food & Beverage & Corporate Chef, Zane Holmquist. “Alpine Distilling has been such an innovative partner, and we are grateful to be able to create a brand new product together for locals and visitors alike to experience.”
Traditionally native to Scandinavia, aquavit – from the Latin “water of life” – is distilled from grain or potatoes and flavored with herbs, predominantly caraway or dill seed. The Stein Eriksen Lodge label consists of wheat and barley produced in oak barrels and flavored with global components of European caraway seeds, Moroccan orris root, Egyptian coriander, Indian cumin, and American orange peel. The spirit presents as “liquid gold” in color with an incredibly beautiful aroma and a deep, complex taste profile. The aquavit maintains a balanced, soft mouthfeel best served as a chilled shot or in one of the property’s signature cocktails.
The limited edition of Stein Eriksen Lodge aquavit is currently available at the Lodge while supplies last. The future of the spirit will live on through its original oak barrel, as it will be used to age an exclusive Stein Eriksen Lodge beer produced by Red Rock Brewing. Details on the beer product’s release will be announced soon.
