How to Create a Night-Out Inside Park City Style

With social gathering spots closed and most of us staying in to stay safe and flatten the curve due to COVID-19, it’s easy to feel cooped up indoors. Do you find yourself daydreaming of Park City’s fine eateries, craft cocktails, and getting the gang together? Don’t worry! We’ve compiled a creative list of ideas that bring the best of Park City to your home. Check out our top six recommendations for having a perfect night in Park City style.

1. Order a Curbside Meal from a Park City Restaurant

Since COVID-19 has forced establishments to suspend dining room service, many of your favorite Park City restaurants have transitioned to curbside meal pick-up. So, why not bring home some of your favorite PC cooking home for your night-in?

Recreate a downtown dining excursion at your abode with classic eats from 501 Main. Their take-out menu offers some of their most beloved bistro items among other delightful selections. Or go classic Italian with a fresh pasta pick up from Versante Hearth & Bar. They’re also offering health care workers and first responders 50% off of their regular menu items as well! With so many Park City restaurants providing pick-up and delivery options, there’s something for anyone wanting to make the most out of a night in.

2. Mix Park City Craft Cocktails at Home

Let’s face it: during times like these, we all deserve a cocktail. If staying at home has left you missing one of Park City’s award-winning cocktails, don’t fret. Embrace your inner bartender and craft one of our town’s most famous cocktails at home. Here are a few essential PC libations, with ingredients, to get you started:

Flanagan’s Pink Leprechaun by Vasi Petric

This innovative cocktail features Jameson Caskmates IPA, Run 151, Disaronno, mint, raspberries, Monin raspberry syrup, cinnamon, and Angostura orange bitters.

Serve in an Old-Fashioned glass and garnish with dehydrated lemons, raspberries and mint sprig.

Twisted Fern’s Chaplin’s Mate by Adam Ross

Reminiscent of a French 75, but with a Park City twist, this bubbly concoction contains Alpine Summit gin, Gruet Blanc Noir, apricot shrub, blueberries, mint, and Turbinado sugar.

Serve in a coupe glass and garnish with a mint leaf and red shiso tops for the full Twisted Fern effect.

Tupelo’s La Vaquera by Trevor Brown

This award-winning cocktail took home the gold in our Summer Cocktail Contest with its exciting combination of spirits. Make it by mixing High West DoubleRye, Lustau Pedro Ximenez Sherry, house-made hibiscus sherry, lemon juice, and Bitters Lab Habanero Lime bitters.

Serve in a rocks glass over a large cube and garnish with Ranui Gardens edible windflowers, dehydrated lime, and orange zest.

3. Have a Fun Board Game Night In

Who doesn’t love having a game night? Dust off your old Monopoly board or bust out Apples to Apples and spend some fun, quality time with your family. Need to expand your board game collection or start one? Dolly’s Books on Main St. offers online orders and curbside pick-up! Wishing you could bring in even more friends and family to play? Plan a virtual game night and get your whole crew on board.

4. Make a Milkshake Inspired by Draft’s Burger Bar

We love and miss Draft’s Burger Bar for a million reasons: the wraparound deck, killer burgers, catching the game on one of their giant flat-screen TVs – we could go on forever. But when it comes down to it, their milkshakes are in a class of their own!

If you have a hankering for one of their handcrafted milkshakes, why not shake things up at home and make your own? The key to a Draft’s milkshake is quality ingredients, childlike whimsy, and extreme experimentation. For example, their Strawberries in Paradise shake with pop tarts, sugar wafers, and strawberries three ways (fresh berries, strawberry syrup, and strawberry preserves), or their Wake Me Up Before You Coco, a classic malt served with a chocolate donut. Look over their milkshake menu for inspiration, and don’t be afraid to get unconventional with your combinations.

5. Watch an Award-Winning Sundance Movie

It’s not a secret that most of us have been binge watching our favorite shows and catching up on movies while we stay at home. If you are looking to expand your viewing options or want to have a quintessential Park City movie night in, check out some of the best Sundance Film Festival movies to watch at home. Start with our amazing 2020 winners, and work your way back! Many of our favorite Sundance movies are available on most streaming services, but you can also subscribe to Sundance Now to gain access to a wealth of critically acclaimed cinema that was first screened here in Park City.

6. Light a Park City Candle of Your Favorite Local Scent

Looking for a little mood lighting for your night in and want to support a local business? Then make a virtual visit to Indigo Highway and grab up some of their hand-poured candles. Each candle has a unique fragrance that invokes the scents of our great outdoors you can enjoy in your abode.

The Park City Wildflower candle is infused with a bouquet of desert grass and fresh petals, reminding us of hikes along Spiro Trial. Après Park City candle bursts with the mountain-inspired aromas of juniper, pine, and balsam. Indigo Highway candles’ evocative scents might just be the next best things to actually being outside.
